Welcome to your Community Club

The Whitehorse Colts Junior Football and Netball Club is a strong community sporting club that provides the opportunity for boys and girls to participate in Australian Rules Football and Netball. The Club runs an Auskick (AFL) program, NetSetGo (Netball) program, boys and girls junior football teams in the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) and junior netball teams in the Whitehorse Netball Association. Our home ground is situated at Springfield Park, Box Hill North.

Our Club prides itself on creating an inclusive family environment where children and their parents can participate in a community-based organisation where they can improve their fitness and ball skills, learn what it means to be part of a team and most of all have fun with friends.

The club also provides a pathway for girls and boys to continue at the Whitehorse Pioneers Football and Netball Club.

Auskick Program
This is where it all starts. Our very successful Auskick Program is run by parents who have obtained AFL Auskick training certification. Boys and girls from Prep to Grade 3 can learn the skills of football in a safe environment. In 2014 we won 'Auskick Centre of the Year' central region. Our weekly Auskick program is held at our home ground from April through August.

NetSetGo Program

Woolworths NetSetGO is netball's official starter program for kids aged five to 10.

A chance to learn the netty basics, Woolworths NetSetGO helps kids gain confidence, get active and make friends in a safe and inclusive environment.

The program is divided up into three tiers: Net, Set and GO. Where you begin depends on your age and netball experience, but there's no skill level required to get started.

Junior Football Program

The Whitehorse Colts are associated with the Yarra Junior Football League. We field teams from U8 through to Youth (U18) for both girls and boys.

Netball Program
Our teams play in the Whitehorse Netball Association with matches at Sportlink, 2 Hanover Road, Vermont South.

Important YJFL Message - Return to Play Protocols for Sunday 20 June

I’d urge all of our members to read the message in full to understand what is expected for our games tomorrow

The AFL Return to Play Protocols as at 18 June are attached for reference.

TO: All Presidents, All Secretaries
AFL Victoria have released their current version of Return to Play Protocols (attached).
Key Points to note:

Open for all ages, training and competition
- Limited to minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (i.e. players, coaches, officials) and must be within venue limits above for indoor sports and outdoor sports are limited to 1,000 people per venue
- Spectators not allowed (excludes people necessary for events such as teachers, instructors, trainers, coaches, umpires, carers, parents and guardians)
- Change rooms are permitted to be open however the total number of people permitted in all indoor spaces at the facility combined at any time does not exceed the indoor venue cap of 50 (with infants under one year of age not counting towards this limit)
- Get in and Get out approach to playing and training
- Canteens/kiosks are permitted to be open and must abide by density quotients and total number of people permitted in an indoor space
- No spectators on grounds during breaks or after the match

Please note that the 1000 people per venue limit applies to ensure adequate cover for venues with multiple grounds and multiple sports (e.g Bulleen Park is considered 1 venue consisting of 3 Football Grounds and two Soccer pitches). It does not mean that we should be encouraging anyone other than those playing on the day and their parents/guardians to attend.

Please note the following points that Brad Scott has communicated to Tim Murray this week in regards to Crowd Management:

We urge everyone to support our clubs by adhering to the State Government directions. The Department of Health will be monitoring behaviour and it is vital we lead by example to ensure our exemption continues. It is also critical to our current submission around return to crowds next week and beyond.

We ask that leagues and clubs clearly communicate to their supporters the restrictions that are in place. But we stress that volunteers are not expected to play the role of police or security guards. Most of our metropolitan grounds operate as public space and therefore clubs should focus on doing their best to adhere to protocols in the immediate vicinity of the clubrooms.
